i wasted 2 years on a startup that i never launched
how fear, overthinking, and not showing up kept me from launching. a honest story about my startup and what i finally learned.
i build stuff.
been here since 22.877760583

when i was 17, i had an idea to build a social media platform for college students. i wanted it anonymous, so i built thepairup.
ok, i'm not done yet.
thepairup brutally failed. i thought i was the next mark zuckerberg. went all in for 3 months, coding 12–14 hours a day. and i was the only one who signed up.

fast forward to february 2025.
my journey began with a beautiful accident.
i found a glitch on topmate.io and made $15 in seconds.
i reported it, they fixed it, and i invested that money in a medium subscription i'd always dreamed of. that single $2 subscription completely changed my life.

from silent builder to daily sharer. creating content opened doors, built my brand, and made me unstoppable.
p.s. i'm a developer, not a writer. i just accidentally became one.
in march 2025, my developer journey took a turn.
it all started when i discovered marc lou and his journey of building products solo.
that's when i knew what i wanted to do.
so i started building superfast. it's a tool that helps developers ship faster. check out the promo.
superfast is special. if you're a developer trying to ship faster, read the docs and see what you can build.

the story of how i locked myself for 35 days to build something meaningful. real insights on deep work, focus, and commitment.
and i finally made money out of it. the first sale is always special.

2025 is my year (not the year i wanted).
i always wanted to build a product that helps people. solo, no team, because at the same time i want to travel the world. like a nomad. check my bucket list.
and i found out about marc lou, the legend.
he built 26+ products. all solo. traveling the world and making 6 figures a month.
i was like, "i can do this too".
so in feb 2025, i started building thepairup again. but this time with a different idea. i removed anonymity and made it for college students.
but to build a huge platform like this, i needed a team, servers, money, and time. so i paused the project. after 2 months of working on it, i realized i want to build solo. (p.s. maybe in the future i'll build it with a team)
check out the new thepairup.
so i started building superfast. i started in late march. built it completely solo. took me 35 days to build and launched it on may 4, 2025.
in the meantime, i also started adding some passive income. i began writing on medium.
and i started posting on twitter. i shared my journey, my learnings, and some shitposts. on june 8, 2025, i got monetized on twitter.
extra: got my first affiliate sale on july 26, 2025. got my first superfast user on july 30, 2025.

2025 shattered some beliefs i held tight. here's what i learned when the illusions fell away.
2026 is here, and i'm not slowing down.
on january 10, i wrote my plan for the year. still executing it. not planning to stop.
wanna know my plan for 2026? here's the post:
after a weird 2025, here's my plan for 2026. goals, focus areas, and how i'm coming back for everything.
someone also covered the whole journey, including wins, crashes, and everything in between.
watch it on youtube.
november broke me. four income sources gone in four days. by the end of december, i was back at $0.
then it flipped.
a viral tweet. seo it is built in 10 hours. paying users by morning.
january kept stacking: $4500+ in one month. not luck, but momentum i chose to keep.
wanna know how seo it is actually happened? here's the post:
how a 12-hour launch challenge became one of my best products, from $2 lifetime to $49/mo with real users.
wanna know the full comeback arc? here's the post:
$0 in december. $4500+ in january. 800k views and a product built in 10 hours.
february hit different.
sponsorships came flooding back, at an insane level. brands i never imagined were reaching out.
same month, i found out about network school in malaysia. it's a physical community of builders on an island near singapore.
march, i went to network school.
80+ countries in one place. conversations that changed how i think about building. one of the craziest environments i've ever been in.
wanna know what network school is? here's the post:
in short: learn, burn, earn, fun. what network school is, what it costs, who it's for, and my honest take after living on campus.
some stuff above worked out. most of it didn't. but i learned a lot.
sometimes i write about my fuck ups building stuff, or those rare times when things actually went right. if you want me to hit you up when i write, follow me on twitter.
currently working on: building more products, writing more content, and figuring out this whole indie hacker thing.
